The Harsh Realities of Cloud Security: Misconfigurations, Lack of Oversight and Little Visibility

Findings from a CyberRisk Alliance Business Intelligence Research Study

With cloud adoption on the rise, cloud environments and applications have become a prime target for threat actors.

As more organizations continue to migrate to the cloud, the cyber risks associated with cloud misconfigurations mount. Given that cloud environments are a primary target for cyberattacks, the lack of appropriate measures to protect cloud security could become a serious threat to your business continuity.

We partnered with CyberRisk Alliance’s Business Intelligence Unit to ask security leaders and IT professionals about their biggest cloud security challenges and how they are leveraging the cloud security solutions.

Some notable findings from the survey include:

  • 62% of survey respondents cited improved security among their top goals for current or future cloud deployments and migrations
  • 35% of respondents indicate they are planning to add cloud security posture management to their cloud strategy
  • Nearly 75% of respondents said their budget for cloud security is expected to increase next year
