J. Paul Haynes, P.Eng.
Chief Executive Officer
Mr. Haynes is a serial entrepreneur, who started his first company when he was completing his Masters. He joined eSentire in 2010 to bring his business growth, sales and marketing expertise to the organization. Under his leadership the firm has tripled in size and now is the primary security organization for a combined $1.2 trillion in AuM in the alternate asset management space. Mr. Haynes often speaks to executives and is able to bridge complex technical issues to the enterprise security risks asset managers must mitigate. Over the past 20 years prior to eSentire, he has started, financed and successfully sold a number of enterprise software businesses in sectors including energy, government, healthcare and engineering. Mr. Haynes is a professional engineer and holds a Masters in Engineering and sits on several Boards of Directors.
Founder and Chief Security Strategist
With over 20 years of tactical information security experience, Mr. Sprickerhoff leads both the eSentire security research team, as well as the eSentire customer-facing team that conducts vulnerability assessments. Mr. Sprickerhoff sets the future vision and direction for security technology within the company, defines operational security best practices, and oversees the security posture on behalf of our customers. He holds several security industry certifications and is considered to be a subject matter expert in information security analysis. He holds a Bachelor of Mathematics, Computer Science degree from the University of Waterloo.
John Hartley Harris
Executive Vice-president and CFO
With over 20 years of executive-level financial and operational experience, Mr. Harris leads financial operations and investor relations. As a proven career business builder providing leadership and capital to high potential Canadian companies, he has led several companies through the full spectrum of growth, including business combinations and IPO. Most recently, Mr. Harris has worked with several early stage high growth companies and venture firms. He holds an Honours of Business from the Ivey School at the University of Western Ontario.
Chief Technology Officer
Mark McArdle holds six patents in Internet security and is a seasoned technology executive with over 20 years experience with top technology brands. After starting his career as a software developer, he moved to Silicon Valley in 1996 and joined PGP, Inc. PGP was acquired by McAfee in 1997 where Mr. McArdle remained for 11 years, assuming increasingly senior positions in Enterprise, SMB and Consumer Product groups. Mr. McArdle rose to the rank of senior vice president for McAfee’s Consumer Product Development division, responsible for engineering and product management functions for the 400-employee division with products generating in excess of $650M in annual revenue.
Vice President, Sales
Leveraging over 17 years of sales leadership experience, Mr. Knoll directs the inside sales and field sales teams at eSentire. Prior to joining eSentire, Mr. Knoll was the Director of Americas Sales for Symantec’s Threat and Risk Management Group. Most notably at Symantec, he was twice recognized (2011, 2012) as a top sales leader in the East Region and 2012 top national sales leader across North America. Mr. Knoll has also demonstrated success in sales roles at Mercury Interactive and Sun Microsystems. He holds a Bachelor of Science-Business degree from the University of Notre Dame.
Vice President, Marketing
Mr. Sangster combines an entrepreneurial spirit with more than 20 years experience managing marketing operations, with small and large teams in various high-tech sectors serving global markets. Through his career he has garnered experience at industry giants Intel Corporation, Research in Motion and Cisco Systems. Mr. Sangster holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Western Ontario and Business Diploma in Technical Communication from Humber College.
Vice President, Security Operations and Customer Experience
Mr. Ritter is a seasoned technology executive with over 20 years’ experience focused around product evangelism and customer experience. Prior to joining Research In Motion in 2000 he held several positions in customer support, information technology, and pre-sales technical engineering. In the 12 years that Mr. Ritter was at RIM, he held a variety of positions including being a founding member of the BlackBerry Solutions Group, technical lead on several products and carrier partners, and was directly focused on RIM’s Enterprise customers as a director in the product management team. As a Senior Director level in the Collaboration and Social Networking team, Mr. Ritter was responsible for Operations and Program Management. As part of his experience at RIM, Mr. Ritter is listed as a co-inventor on 4 mobile technology focused patents.
Director, Professional Services
Ms. Leetham brings over 20 years of combined Project Management and Software Solutions experience to eSentire. As the Director of Professional Services, she specializes in ensuring that client needs are met with the right solutions. Ms. Leetham holds a Bachelor of Applied Science in Chemical Engineering from the University of Waterloo, and has been a Certified Project Management Professional (PMP) since 2005.
Director, Solutions Engineering
As a seasoned solutions architect, Mr. Blenkhorn has spent much of his 15-year career working with global Fortune 50-1000 clients. In his role as Director of Solutions Engineering at eSentire, Mr. Blenkhorn leads his team as they provide guidance and technical perspective to new customers as they adopt eSentire’s technology. Mr. Blenkhorn is dedicated to customer success, as is evident through countless positive customer partnerships. Mr. Blenkhorn has an Associate’s Degree in Software Engineering from Georgian College.
Director, Human Resources
With over 12 years of Human Resource experience, Ms. Patterson brings her invaluable drive from previous start-ups, various public corporations, and most recently her own business. She specializes in growing and developing organizations from inception to maturity. Ms. Patterson holds a BA in Social Development Studies from the University of Waterloo, a Post-Graduate Certificate in Human Resource Management from Conestoga College, a Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP) designation, and is a proud member of the Human Resources Professionals Association (HRPA).
